Taiho Pharmaceutical to Support the Pink Ribbon Campaign Again in 2019
In 2019, Taiho Pharmaceutical is once again supporting the Pink Ribbon campaign to promote a greater understanding of breast cancer and raise awareness of the importance of its early detection, diagnosis and treatment.
Every year during breast cancer awareness month in October, various events are held worldwide, including in Europe and the U.S. Among other initiatives, Taiho Pharmaceutical will be one of the sponsors for the annual Pink Ribbon Festival organized by the Japan Cancer Society.
The most common form of cancer among Japanese women (by morbidity rate) is breast cancer, and this rate is rising every year. Approximately 90,000 new cases of breast cancer are said to be diagnosed annually.*1 To help women detect breast cancer as early as possible so that they may pursue treatment sooner, Taiho Pharmaceutical continues to provide useful information via its “All About Breast Cancer. Info”*2 website. In addition, the company also provides information for patients and their families on relieving the pain that can be caused by cancer treatments at the website “Survivorship.jp”.*3
Taiho Pharmaceutical will continue striving to improve human health and contribute to a society enriched by smiles.

About the Pink Ribbon Festival
This year will be the 17th year of the Pink Ribbon Festival, which has been carried out all around Japan by the Japan Cancer Society and other organizations since 2003 to convey the importance of breast cancer exams and to support patients. It aims to increase the rate of breast cancer screening and to conduct activities that support patients and people around them so as to reduce the death rate from breast cancer as much as possible.
