Taiho Pharmaceutical Certified as a Sports Yell Company by the Japan Sports Agency in Recognition of Its Provision of Opportunities for Exercise Tailored for New Lifestyles
Taiho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced that it has received certification from the Japan Sports Agency as a 2022 Sports Yell Company, certification granted to corporations that actively encourage participation in sports to promote employee health.
The Japan Sports Agency recognizes companies that actively support and promote measures to improve employee health through sports with Sports Yell Company certification. In response to health risks such as lack of exercise among employees and with fewer opportunities for exercise due to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic, Taiho Pharmaceutical aims to inspire employees to improve their health by providing opportunities for and encouraging regular exercise. Specifically, the company provides opportunities for exercise with a smartphone exercise app tailored to new lifestyles, and instituted a new type of sporting event using this app. The company is also trying to increase the amount of physical activity in the workplace by introducing standing desks in its offices. These and other initiatives are recognized by the company’s certification as a 2022 Sports Yell Company.
